Water Main Break Reported In Shrewsbury: DPW

The town will have to shut off water to a neighborhood near Dean Park for much of the day.

SHREWSBURY, MA — A neighborhood near the Shrewsbury town center may be without water for much of the day Thursday due to a water main break.

The Shrewsbury Department of Public Works reported the break around 6:30 a.m. Thursday near Carlton Street and Woodway Drive. The affected area is just off Main Street and west of Dean Park.

But a wider area including dozens of homes will be without water while repairs take place, according to the town. See a map of the affected area here.

"Crews are working to isolate the impacted section of water main, and will then begin making the repairs. We expect the water to be off for the majority of the day so we can complete repairs," the town said in a bulletin.
