SHREWSBURY, MA — Welcome to the April 4 edition of Monday Manual, where we highlight important events coming up during the week in Patch communities between Wayland and Worcester.

Here's what to know for the week of April 4:

Shrewsbury

Pets will be on display in Shrewsbury this weekend. On Saturday, children's librarians will host a pet parade at Lake Street Park. Parents and kids can bring any type of pet, and one lucky parade-goer will win a $;25 gift card to Petco.

Worcester

Worcester's Human Rights Commission on Monday may vote to advise police to de-prioritize enforcement around entheogenic plants — i.e., hallucinogenic mushrooms and similar substances. The vote would only be advisory, but it would be a big win for a campaign to decriminalize hallucinogenic plants across Massachusetts. (The HRC's agenda is actually packed on Monday, featuring discussions around police body cams, and the department's racial equity audit.)

Wayland

The town's semiannual hazardous waste collection drive will happen on Saturday. The event is open to all town residents, but you have to sign up in advance here.

Marlborough

Has your water turned a funny color? It's probably the hydrant flushing. Marlborough will be cleaning hydrants by flushing them with water starting Monday. The cleaning will last through May. If your water stays a funny color for more than 15 minutes, call DPW at (508) 624-6910 ext. 33300.

Milford

Election Day in Milford is Tuesday. Find out everything you need to know about how to vote and who's running here.

Westborough

The Westborough Lions Club will host a rubber duck derby at the Nichols Reservoir on Saturday to raise money for a local scholarship. Rubber duck racers can win cash prizes, but it's also just fun to watch. Find details here.

Sudbury

Sudbury will also hold its semiannual hazardous waste collection drive on Sunday. Find details about times and what you can and can't bring to the event on the town website.
