SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury police are reporting a recent residential break-in similar to ones that occurred over the summer, where burglars entered homes through unlocked windows.

Sudbury police did not release any specifics about the new burglary in a social media post, but did take the opportunity to remind residents about how to secure homes when owners are on vacation, or just at work during the day.

Those tips include: using motion lights, leaving interior lights on when not at home, keeping home alarm systems armed, having someone pickup mail and locking all windows and doors — including ones on the second floor.

In August, homes along Twin Pond Lane and Cudworth Lane were broken into through second-floor windows, Sudbury police reported at the time.

"Understandably, these circumstances can cause fear and anxiety within our community, hence it is as a community we watch over one another. Please contact the police department any time you observe suspicious and/or unusual activity," police said in a Facebook post.
