Closures Coming To Sudbury Around Veterans Day 2023

The Nov. 11 Veterans Day holiday will be observed on Friday, meaning some local closures.

SUDBURY, MA — The annual Nov. 11 Veterans Day holiday will be observed on Friday this year, and that means some closures around Sudbury.

All non-emergency Sudbury Town Hall offices will be closed Friday. Sudbury Public Schools and Lincoln-Sudbury High School will also be closed.

On Saturday, the town transfer station will be closed due to the holiday, and will reopen with regular hours on Tuesday.

Wider out, state offices, including Registry of Motor Vehicles service centers, will be closed on Friday. MWRTA and MBTA service will not change on Friday.

Veterans Day is always Nov. 11. The holiday used to commemorate the end of World War I, but it became an official holiday in 1954 to thank and honor all of those who have served honorably in the military, whether in wartime or peacetime.
