Daniel Bushey, Marine Corp. Vet, Sudbury Native, Dies at 85

SUDBURY, MA—Daniel Otis Bushey of Sudbury died Monday, May 30, 2016 at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham following a short period of declining health. He was 85 and the husband of Jeanne (Baxter) Lavine. Born in Greenfield ,Massachusetts November 18, 1931, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary Jane (Sullivan) Bushey.

Dan served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War era and following his formal college training was employed as an electrical engineer. He lived in Sudbury for many years where he and his first wife , Bertha (Manning) Bushey, his wife of 53 years, raised their family. They later moved to Framingham where they lived at the time of Bertha's death 2006. Dan later remarried and moved again to Sudbury.

In addition to his wife, Jeanne, Dan is survived by his children; Daniel O. Bushey, Jr. of Manchester Center, VT.; Lori Blades and her husband Kent of Watertown; Eileen Rivera and her husband Luis of Marlboro and Susan Manning and her wife Jen of Worcester. He also leaves his grandchildren: Keith Blades, Audra White, Justine, Adrienne, Genevieve and Isabel Bushey, Nicholas and Mary Catherine Rivera, and Jameson and Dylan Manning. Also surviving are four great grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 4, at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 160 Concord Road, Sudbury at 10:30 am. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Duckett-J.S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road., Sudbury. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.

Rather than flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be directed to the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc., 33 Lyman St., Suite 304 B or to the Hospice Comfort Room, 4th Floor, MetroWest Medical Center, 115 Lincoln St., Framingham, MA 01702.
