SUDBURY, MA — Start making your brunch plans now.

After more than a year of planning, building and pop-up dining previews, The Farmer's Daughter in Sudbury is opening. The owners confirmed this week the brunch spot will open on March 9 in the Meadow Walk shopping plaza.

Owner and chef Chandra Gouldrup began planning the Sudbury restaurant in early 2020, a followup to her successful location in Easton, which opened in 2013. The pandemic, of course, delayed the opening, but Gouldrup was able to whet appetites this winter by hosting pop-up brunch events on most weekends.

The opening comes as Gov. Charlie Baker has loosened indoor dining restrictions. As of Monday, restaurants no longer have capacity limits, but seating will be 6 feet apart or separated by partitions. Other restrictions, like 90-minute seating limits and six people per table, are still in place.

The Farmer's Daughter operations director Patrick Kennedy said the restaurant is not planning to increase its capacity just yet. The restaurant will seat about 75 to start, although it can accommodate more.

But if the popularity of Gouldrup's Easton location is any indication, there might be lines at the Sudbury location — pandemic or not.
