Found In Critical Condition 2 Months Later, Fiona Fights

Fiona was a newly adopted dog who was severely skittish. She darted out of her home one day, and was missing for two months.

SUDBURY, MA—After a harrowing two month journey on her own, which included losing many pounds and getting hit by a train, a sweet dog is recovering at Tufts Veterinary Medical Center in Grafton. As of Sunday, May 27, Fiona has been eating better and is still fighting, according to Buddy Dog Humane Society, who currently is the dog's guardian.

Fiona was recently found after she was missing for two months, found in critical condition. She had escaped her relatively new home, and too terrified to find her way back. Her mom and a neighbor searched nightly for the dog, acting on reports of sightings, to no avail.

Finally, after a miraculous phone call, she was found (miles away) and is currently receiving around-the-clock intensive care.

"She has a long difficult road ahead of her, and will require all the strength, love and care we can provide her," said Buddy Dog volunteers on the Facebook page. "We are so relieved that Fiona has been found and forever grateful to Missing Dogs Massachusetts, our volunteers and all who tirelessly searched for Fiona. A special thank you to Jonny Rino and Christine Maider for the life-saving call that allowed us to finally get Fiona to safety."

If you would like to help Fiona on her road to recovery, donations to Buddy Dog Humane Society are greatly appreciated by the nonprofit.
