SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury police will be handing out tickets to kids riding bikes this summer.

But these tickets are ones you'll definitely want to get.

A new police program will reward safe bicycling with free ice cream. Sudbury officers will be out this summer looking for kids who are doing things like wearing helmets and keeping full control of their bikes. Each ticket will be good for a scoop at New City Microcreamery in the Whole Foods plaza.

"In the next few weeks, some of our officers will be issuing tickets for a free scoop, when they observe safe behavior," police said in a Facebook post this week.
