SUDBURY, MA — A new art exhibit will visit Sudbury's Goodnow Library in July showcasing the work of environmental activists from across the world.

The "Green Politics" exhibit will feature posters curated by labor activist Stephen Lewis. The posters cover themes like climate change, fracking, nuclear disarmament and genetically modified foods and plants.

On top of being a labor activist in Massachusetts, Lewis is one of the top collectors of activist posters around. His collection has traveled to libraries and state parks across the state over the years, covering topics like freedom of the press and women's equality.

One of Lewis' exhibitions at Foxborough's Boyden Library was censored in 2017. The library trustees said they received complaints about some of the work, including one showing former Iran president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad giving the bras d'honneur. The library only allowed the exhibit to continue when Lewis removed the Ahmadinejad poster and another depicting a photographer on the ground in a pool of dark liquid.

The free exhibit runs July 5 to July 29 at the Goodnow Library, 21 Concord Road. The Sudbury Cultural Council and the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1445 and Sheetmetal Workers Local 17 funded the exhibition.
