To Infinity And Beyond: Sudbury Spa Hosts Post-Pandemic Opening

SUDBURY, MA — Just a few months after Jasmin Taliadouros opened her Infinity Medspa, the coronavirus pandemic began, nearly ending her dream of owning the business. The prospects were so grim due to statewide lockdowns in 2020, Taliadouros' attorney advised her to file for bankruptcy.

She declined to do that, and on Wednesday morning — surrounded by family, staff and members of the local business community — held the ribbon-cutting ceremony that was initially thwarted by coronavirus.

In many ways, the ceremony was a celebration of the decline of the pandemic in general, opening the door to a hopeful future for Taliadouros and everyone else who made it through the once-in-a-lifetime event.

"We've survived COVID-19, officially," she said to the crowd gathered inside her spa at the Mill Village Clock Tower plaza along the Boston Post Road.

In attendance was MetroWest Chamber of Commerce President Jim Giammarinaro, who helped Taliadouros keep advertising during the pandemic; and state Sen. Jamie Eldrige (D-Sudbury), whose staff, including Immaculate Mchome and Bianca DeSousa, helped untangle red tape for Taliadouros as she was setting up shop.

Taliadouros faced other challenges opening the spa aside from the pandemic. She wanted the business to be welcoming and relaxing, not sterile like a doctor's office. But it was tough to get state officials to see her vision. But she largely got her way. The spa features warm lighting, giant gems and crystals and Egyptian-style décor throughout.

The business offers an array of services, from bioidentical hormone treatments to "vampire" facials, Botox, skin treatments and even medical marijuana certifications. She's hired a staff of four — plus her husband, George — that includes a registered nurse, a nurse practitioner and a phlebotomist.

Taliadouros is also focused on helping the larger community. During the pandemic, she gave out facemasks in exchange for donations to the Sudbury Community Food Pantry. She had planned to host a charity fundraiser at the Wayside Inn last November, but canceled it due to the second wave of the virus.

But, the event — which will raise money for Alzheimer's disease — has been rescheduled for November 2022 and, following Wednesday's ribbon cutting, is her next milestone.

"When the fundraiser happens, that's when we'll know we've made it," she said.
