Lincoln-Sudbury HS Senior Earns Bowdoin National Merit Scholarship

The final round of 2022 National Merit scholarships were revealed this week.

LINCOLN, MA — A Lincoln-Sudbury High School senior has won a college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship award, according to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).

LSHS senior Sonali Das, a Lincoln resident, was one of about 1,200 students across the U.S. this week who earned a scholarship sponsored by a college or university. This week's awards are part of a second round announced by NMSC. A total of about 3,800 students across the U.S. earned a college-sponsored scholarship in 2022.

Das will receive a scholarship sponsored by Bowdoin College in Maine, according to NMSC. The scholarships are typically worth between $500 and $2,000.

The college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship winners were selected from students who advanced to the finalist level in National Merit Scholarship competition this year. College sponsors provide National Merit Scholarships for finalists who plan to attend their institution.

This is the fourth announcement of National Merit Scholars in 2022. NMSC named recipients of corporate-sponsored Scholarships on April 27, National Merit $2,500 Scholarships on May 11, and the first round of college-sponsored Merit Scholarship award winners on June 1.
