SUDBURY, MA — A long-duration snow event will move into this region Thursday afternoon, with the potential for between 4 and 8 inches in the Sudbury area.

You may see flurries Thursday morning, but the real snow won't begin until after 2 p.m. The snow will fall through Friday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

In a change from other recent snow events, this storm will bring more snow to areas closer to the Atlantic Ocean. Almost the entire state west of the I-495 may pick up between 4 and 6 inches — except for the Quabbin Reservoir area, which may only see 3 to 4 inches.
