Longtime Sudbury and Wayland Teacher Dies at 93

Jean Martin taught kindergarten and first grade in Wayland and Sudbury for more than 30 years.

Jean T. (Temple) Martin, age 93, of Sudbury, died Saturday Dec. 5 at the Life Care Center in Littleton.

Daughter of the late Dean H. and Grace E. (Pittman) Temple. Beloved wife of the late Charles D. “Dud” Martin. Devoted mother of Deborah J. Martin of Bantam CT, Wendy A. Davis of Hudson, Joanne M. Hyman and her husband Edward of New Milford CT, and Nancy M. Doherty of Sudbury. Loving grandmother of Charles Robert Hyman of Canton, Benjamin Norman Hyman of Phoenixville PA, Kristen Jean Doherty of Old Town ME, and John Patrick Doherty of Sudbury. Sister of Dean H. Temple of Fredonia NY, and the late Dr. Richard Temple.

Jean was a kindergarten and first grade teacher for over 30 years for Sudbury and Wayland Schools, and a longtime member of Memorial Congregational Church in Sudbury, where she served on many committees, and was a member of the choir. Interment will be private at the family’s request. A celebration of life will be held at a future date, at the Memorial Congregational Church, 26 Concord Rd. SUDBURY.
