Richard Trovato, Longtime Sudbury Resident, Dies at 61

Richard 'Dick' Trovato, who leaves his wife of 21 years, was his children's biggest fan.

SUDBURY, MA—Richard "Dick" Trovato, 61, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 after a long battle with an illness.

Born in Boston on July 15, 1954, he was the son of Florence (Graham) Trovato of Norwood and the late Salvatore Trovato. Dick was raised in Boston and graduated from Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury with the class of 1972. He earned his BS Degree in Business Management from Thomas College in Maine in 1976. Dick worked as Vice President of Sales in the high tech industry for over 30 years. He was a former resident of Norwood, MA, Portland, ME and Stow, MA, before settling in Sudbury 20 years ago.

Dick enjoyed traveling, especially to Aruba and Nantucket. His favorite pastimes included golfing with his buddies at Nashawtuc, watching Nantucket sunsets from his deck, cheering on all Boston sports teams and story-telling. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was quick to crack a joke resulting in smiles and laughter from those around him. Dick most loved spending time with his family. He was his children's #1 fan and was often found cheering them on from the sidelines during their lacrosse, soccer and basketball games.

Dick is also survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Robin J. (Scanlon) Trovato. Dick was a devoted father to Matthew R. Trovato of Laguna Beach, CA, Jessica L. Trovato of Auburn, Kendall J. Trovato of Sudbury, Brendan G. Trovato of Sudbury; loving brother of Paul Trovato and his wife Mary of North Attleboro, Michael Trovato and his wife Brenda of Hyannis, Denise Palombo of Walpole; proud grandfather of Layla Trovato of Laguna Beach, CA; loving uncle to eight nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 2, at 9AM from the Duckett- J.S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 160 Concord Road, Sudbury. Interment will follow in Sudbury.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 1, from 4-7PM at the funeral home.
