Running in Costume: The Fun Run's Returning to Sudbury

Now this is a fun, different way to celebrate Halloween with your community.

Now, this is a wonderful, unique, way to celebrate Halloween. Running in costume.

On Sunday, Oct. 25, starting at 11 a.m., the annual Halloween 5K and Fun Run returns to Sudbury.

It’s the fourth annual event, and appropriate for the whole family. The 5K is a timed event, which is followed by the Fun Run, both looping around Haskell Field.

The 5K starts at 11 a.m. and costs $25 to enter. The Fun Run starts at noon and costs $10.

“This event had about 400 people last year and we are hoping for 500 this year,” said Amber Comeau from Sudbury’s recreation department. “Most people bring their whole families and some participate in the 5k and others in the Fun Run. Almost everyone does come in costume. With Trick of Treating being missed a few years ago for storms, this is was a great way for families to get out and get some more use out of costumes and keep us the Halloween spirit for even longer. We look forward to continuing this fantastic community event for years to come. We encourage everyone to come on down and run, walk, cheer, or volunteer!”
