SUDBURY, MA — July 4 events across the country will look different this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel the annual Independence Day events, including Sudbury.

Sudbury canceled the traditional July 4 parade back in May, buy the town's parade committee is expecting to host one in 2021. Natick and Milford have also canceled parades and other July 4 festivities.

"After much discussion, the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Parade Committee have decided that this is the right thing to do," the town said on May 14. "Bottom line is this is a public health decision. Large scale crowds and social distancing will be near impossible to avoid. Our main priority is to keep the parade participants and attendee’s safe."
