SUDBURY, MA — Ready or not, flu season is here.

The Sudbury Health Department last week held its first of two free flu vaccine clinics for locals as the 2023-24 flu season gets underway. Town residents have another opportunity coming up this weekend to get a shot.

Flu season typically begins in October and lasts into May. As of this week, flu activity was minimal in Massachusetts, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But activity was already starting to increase in nearby Connecticut and Rhode Island.
