Sudbury Democrats Summoned To Caucus For Convention

Town Democrats will elect 13 delegates and 4 alternates during a March 9 caucus.

SUDBURY, MA — Ahead of the state Democratic Party convention in Worcester this summer, Sudbury Democrats will gather this week to elect delegates to attend the confab. The local party is encouraging underrepresented groups like the young, people with disabilities and members of the LGBTQ+ community to attend the caucus.

On March 9 at 10 a.m., Democrats will convene at First Parish, 327 Concord Road, Sudbury, to elect 13 delegates and 4 alternates to represent Sudbury at the 2024 State Democratic Convention. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. and close at 10:15 a.m.

Registered and pre-registered Democrats in Sudbury 16 years old by Feb. 15 may vote and be elected as delegates or alternates during the caucus. Youth (age 16 to 35), people with disabilities, people of color, veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community not elected as delegates or alternates are encouraged to apply to be add-on delegates at the caucus or by visiting massdems.org/massdems-convention. The 2024 Convention will be in person at the DCU Center in Worcester on June 1. At the conclusion of the caucus, a conference will be held to elect 13 representatives to the Senate District Conference on March 23 2 p.m. (location tbd) and elect one person to fill a male State Committee member seat.
