SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury residents who participate in the town's electricity aggregation program will see a small rise in electricity costs in 2021, according to the town's energy provider.

Sudbury's aggregation supplier, NextEra Energy Services, said the increase is due to the revision of the state's Clean Energy Standard (CES), which was revised over the summer. The CES determines the share of clean energy retail electricity companies must provide each year.

In 2020, the CES share is rising from 20 percent to 22 percent. NextEra Energy Services did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the price hike.
