Sudbury Man Dies In NH Snowboarding Incident

The 25-year-old man fell while snowboarding at Loon Mountain Resort in Lincoln, NH.

SUDBURY, MA — A 25-year-old Sudbury man has died after a snowboarding accident over the weekend in New Hampshire.

Samuel Forman fell and hit his head at the Loon Mountain Resort near Lincoln, NH, according to WMUR. Forman, who was wearing a helmet, later died of his injuries, the station reported.

Forman fell along the Flying Fox trail, which is rated as a more difficult trail, according to a Loon news release.

“We are doing and will do whatever we can to help the family and friends of this guest,” Loon Mountain Resort President Jay Scambio said in a news release. “They will remain in the thoughts of many at Loon Mountain.”

Forman was a wrestler at Lincoln-Sudbury High School, but was also an outdoors enthusiast, according to his obituary.

"Sam will leave behind a legacy to be challenged for his LS wrestling successors, his Lehigh classmates and Kappa Alpha brothers in arms. For his family he leaves us with hearts full of his belly laughs, twinkling smile, and endless hugs," the obituary said.
