SUDBURY, MA — A Sudbury middle school ranks the best in the state, according to new rankings released Tuesday by U.S. News & World Report.

Ephraim Curtis Middle School in Sudbury ranked No. 13. The grade 6 to 8 school has 868 students. At Ephraim Curtis Middle, 69% of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 75% scored at or above that level for reading.

The news outlet based its 2024 Best Elementary and Middle School rankings on publicly available data from the U.S. Department of Education, focusing on student proficiency in core subject areas.
