SUDBURY, MA — The biggest day in the presidential nominating process happens on March 5, also known as Super Tuesday.

Massachusetts will be among 16 states (counting a mail-in Democratic primary in Iowa and a Republican primary in Alaska) and American Samoa voting on Super Tuesday — even though the presidential race will assuredly be between President Joe Biden and former president Donald Trump.

But Massachusetts voters also have other races to vote in: state committee man and committee woman candidates will also be on the ballot (more on that below).

Voting in Sudbury and across Massachusetts will run the usual 7 a.m. to. 8 p.m. on Super Tuesday. If you're voting by mail, drop your ballot in a designated box before 8 p.m., or deliver to the clerk's office. Poll workers do not accept mail-in ballots. Find your polling place here.

Presidential Primary

Voters in Massachusetts don't have to be a member of a political party to vote in a primary. Unenrolled (independent) voters can pick a ballot for any party. Each ballot will also come with a "no preference" option. A group of activists wants voters to pick that option in the Democratic primary. Here are the candidates:
