SUDBURY, MA — Residents in Sudbury and Wayland will soon have better access to some of the best hospitals in the world.

MassDOT last week awarded a $127,000 grant to expand the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority Boston Hospital Shuttle to the two towns. The service currently only stops in Framingham and Natick.

After leaving MetroWest, the shuttle stops at the Veterans Administration hospitals in West Roxbury and Jamaica Plain, New England Baptist Hospital, Brigham and Women's, the Dana Farber Cancer Center, Joslin Center, Beth Israel and New England Deaconess.

MassDOT last week also awarded a nearly $75,000 grant to expand MWRTA's Catch Connect service to Sudbury. Catch Connect is a microtransit service that provides on-demand van service, and is presently only available in Hudson, Wellesley, Marlborough, Natick and Framingham.
