Sudbury's First Fall Fest With Scarecrow Contest and 5K Fun Run

Celebrate fall with the community in style.

SUDBURY, MA—For the first time, Sudbury's adding a Fall Fest and scarecrow contest to the annual Halloween 5K and one-mile Fun Run on Sunday, Oct. 23, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Atkinson Pool, 40 Fairbank Road.

It's a day of fun for all ages that includes face painting, musical entertainment, crafts and more.

The Halloween 5K is a timed event starting at 11 a.m. followed by a 1-Mile Fun Run around the paved Haskell Field loop. Costumes are encouraged.

For the Scarecrow Contest, Sudbury's Recreation Department provides straw, a mounting, and twine; you provide the materials needed for a face and any accessories you’d like for your family scarecrow. Clothing and accessories may not be returned, as the Scarecrows will be displayed until Halloween.
