SUDBURY, MA — A new Sudbury restaurant specializing in Neapolitan pizza and other Italian classics is now open.

The new restaurant Sul Tavolo opened last week in the Sudbury Town Square plaza along Hudson Road. News of the coming-soon restaurant came in late August via the Facebook page of Sobre Mesa, Sul Tavolo's sister restaurant in the Sudbury Town Square plaza.

"We are now OPEN! Reservations are open for tonight and this weekend! Thank you to our amazing crew for getting this restaurant buzzing with lots of laughs, great food, and some pretty nice wine!" the new restaurant said in a Facebook post Thursday.

Sul Tavolo is based on the owners' "love of all things tomato, low intervention farming practices, and wicked good olive oil." The menu boasts a lineup of wines and cocktails, appetizers, a slate of Neapolitan pizzas plus much more. Neapolitan-style pizzas are modeled after ones served in Naples, feature a few basic ingredients and are typically cooked in a wood-fired oven (which Sul Tavolo has).

The restaurant is in the space formerly occupied by 29 Rustic Mediterranean, which closed in late 2020.
