What's Replacing The 29 Sudbury Restaurant?

The owners recently applied for a liquor license.

SUDBURY, MA—Food lovers in the area were disappointed when 29 Sudbury closed earlier this year.

On its site, the restaurant posts, "Due to the pending sale of 29 Sudbury to AB Hospitality Group, we have closed for minor renovations. We will re-open shortly, under their ownership. Whole House Group gift cards can still be redeemed at our sister location, Battle Road Brew House, located off Route 27 in Maynard, MA. We cannot thank you enough for your support over the past 5 years, it has been our pleasure serving you."

At a June Board of Selectmen meeting, members approved an alcohol license to a new establishment going into the former 29 Sudbury location called Positano.

Board members had no further information, and Building Inspector Mark Herweck said that the new owners had filed for a liquor transfer, they had not applied for any building or sign permits.

The new owners in the sale also purchased Flank the New American Beefsteak in Waltham as part of the sale from Whole House Group.
