Man Killed In Tewksbury Crash Identified As Hopkinton Resident

A driver crashed into the median on Interstate 495 south in Tewksbury, Massachusetts State Police said.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Police identified the victim of Tuesday's fatal Tewksbury crash as Kevin Furey, 61 of Hopkinton.

Around 12:23 p.m. Tuesday, state police responded to a reported rollover in the Interstate 495 southbound median in Tewksbury, near exit 92 to Route 38.

A 2001 Mercury sedan had drifted into the median and rolled over, down a shallow embankment, state police said. Tewksbury EMS attempted to treat the driver, but he was determined to be dead at the scene.

Officials believe Furey had a medical emergency while driving, prior to the crash.

He was the only person in the car and there were no other cars involved in the crash.

The left travel lane of I-495 was closed for about two hours after the crash.
