DUI Driver Strikes Tree In Front Of Police Station: Tewksbury PD

Police have charged a man with operating under the influence of liquor for a third time following a crash by the police station.

TEWKSBURY, MA — A Tewksbury man was arrested on drunk driving charges for a third time following a hit-and-run crash near the police station, according to police.

Kevin O'Donnell, 58, of Tewksbury, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor (third offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, marked lanes violation, and open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Police were notified Wednesday at 10:41 p.m. of a Toyota Tundra that was driving erratically and struck a tree near the police station at 918 Main St.

Police found a tree on the station's front lawn had been struck and tire tracks marked the grass. They obtained a description of the truck, which police later found in the area of Main Street and Victor Drive.

O'Donnell was taken into custody and held overnight at the police station. He was scheduled for arraignment Thursday in Lowell District Court.
