TEWKSBURY, MA — Prioritizing native plants will help your garden — and your neighbors' gardens — thrive. The Tewksbury Public Library is holding a virtual seminar for Tewksbury tillers who want to create beautiful earth-friendly spaces.

Uli Lorimer will host a webinar on Wednesday, July 6, at 7 p.m. to discuss his new book, The Northeast Native Plant Primer: 235 Plants for an Earth-Friendly Garden, and to give local gardeners tips on picking the right plants for the Tewksbury area.

As the director of horticulture at Framingham-based Native Plant Trust, Lorimer is an expert on and advocate for native plants. Choosing the plants based on your local ecosystem not only benefits the environment, but also keeps garden maintenance to a minimum. Lorimer's handbook is a must-have for New England gardeners.
