Massachusetts Weather: Winter Weather Advisory Until 8 p.m. Monday

Snow totals are expected to range from three to six inches with the best chance for higher amounts across high terrain.

MASSACHUSETTS - Most of the state is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 8 p.m. Monday night and accumulating snow is on the way.

The advisory is for all of Southern New England except for the immediate south coast, cape cod and the islands.

Snow totals are expected to range from three to six inches with the best chance for higher amounts across high terrain, but overall accumulations are going to be light the National Weather Service says.

Snow is expected to spread over the area through the morning commute and accumulating through Monday night wherever temperatures remain at or below freezing.

The snow fall will be moderate and may be heavy at times which could reduce visibility to a mile or less. Snow will accumulate on untreated areas where temperatures are at or below freezing. Forecasters say this will be more significant in the morning hours and less toward midday with warmer temperatures, then again an issue as cold air is expected to push through the area later Monday.
