Snow, Sleet, Rain and Warm Temperatures on the Way

Expect a wintry mix late Monday into Tuesday before warmer temperatures return with Tewksbury's latest forecast.

TEWKSBURY, MA - Get ready for some more crazy weather Tewksbury. Snow, sleet and freezing rain are on the way Monday afternoon and evening. It’s going to make for some treacherous travel, but come late Tuesday morning with temps near 60 degrees and rain in the forecast it won’t be hanging around too long.

A Winter Weather Advisory is up for Tewksbury and parts of Massachusetts from 3 p.m. Monday afternoon until 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. The area could see anywhere between one to three inches of snow and up to a tenth of an inch of ice, according to the National Weather Service.

Snow is expected to begin between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday before transitioning to a period of sleet and freezing rain by late evening. The freezing rain will gradually change to a rain toward daybreak on Tuesday.

Officials warn cold road surfaces will quickly become slippery Monday night as snow and freezing rain move in. And even though temperatures will rise above freezing toward daybreak, ground temperatures will be below freezing leading to an hour or two of icy conditions Tuesday morning.

Tuesday’s high is expected to reach 53 degrees. Wednesday’s high will be 48.
