Tewksbury Coronavirus: Town Delays Property Tax Deadline

The new deadline for real estate and private property taxes is June 1.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury has delayed the deadline for real and personal property taxes to June 1. The town has also waived certain interest and late pees for other taxes and utility fees.

State legislation in response to the new coronavirus allowed towns to delay their property tax deadlines. The original deadline for the tax bill was May 1.

The fee and interest waiver applies to: "excise, tax, betterment assessment or apportionment thereof, water rate or annual sewer use or other charge added to a tax for any payments with a due date on or after March 10, 2020 where payment is made late but before June 30, 2020."
