Tewksbury COVID Positive Rate Falls Below 3%

The town's positive test rate fell over the last two weeks to a level not reported since August, according to state data.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury's covid test positive rate over the last two weeks fell to the lowest level since August as the omicron variant continues to recede.

The town's two-week positive rate was 2.19 percent in Thursday's town-by-town Public Health Report, the lowest since the Aug. 12 report.

There were just 36 confirmed cases in town in the last two weeks, down from 63 in the prior report. That's 8.3 average daily cases per 100,000 residents.

Statewide, confirmed case counts have fallen to their lowest level since August.

Three-quarters of the town's population, 75.3 percent, is fully vaccinated. Over 80 percent have received at least one dose and 42.7 percent have gotten a booster shot.
