TEWKSBURY, MA — The Tewksbury Memorial High School Theater Company is inviting people of all ages to be its guests at the spring musical "Beauty and the Beast" later this month.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. on April 27, 7 p.m. on April 28 and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on April 29, at the high school, located at 320 Pleasant St. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online.

The Disney musical, which is based on the 1991 animated film, made its Broadway debut in 1994 and features well known songs like the title song —"Beauty and the Beast" — and "Be Our Guest."

TMHS students are involved in all aspects of the production, performing on stage and serving important roles on the tech crew.

"The show is looking absolutely wonderful. The kids work so hard and it shows in their performances on and off the stage," said Celeste Pellegrino, music teacher in the TMHS Fine and Performing Arts Department. "With flashy costumes, large sets, and some of Disney's most popular songs, this show will be an event to remember."

This will be TMHS' third production of the year after "Radium Girls" in November and "A Grand Night for Singing" in February.

The student performers in "Beauty" said they are having fun preparing for Opening Night, and that show is coming together well.

"I love the environment, and couldn't ask for a better group of people to perform this show with. The show is going to come out great," said Sarah Downing, who plays Belle.

Meanwhile, Greg Mercado, who plays Lumiere, said preparing for the show has been a memorable experience.

"My time in 'Beauty and the Beast' has been truly enchanting," Mercado said. "The people that I've crossed paths with have truly changed my life for the better. Lumiere had always been one of my dream roles, and being able to put on this show with some of my closest friends (has been) a phenomenal experience."
