TEWKSBURY, MA — The Town of Tewksbury is reminding residents about its upcoming Rabies Inoculation Clinic for dogs and cats.

The clinic will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Tewksbury Senior Center, 175 Chandler St. The vaccination costs $25 per dog or cat.

According to organizers, all dogs at the clinic must be at least 6 months old and brought to the clinic on a leash. Cats, meanwhile, must be brought to the clinic in a crate or box, handheld or restrained by the owner.

The inoculation services will be provided by licensed veterinarians from the Shawsheen Animal Hospital, according to organizers.

Those planning to attend the clinic are advised to bring the previously issued rabies certificate for their pet, which will determine whether the pet will receive a one-year vaccination series or a three-year vaccination series.

If pets have received the three-year vaccination previously, the pet is eligible to receive the three-year vaccine again, organizers said.

Additionally, those attending the clinic will receive free microchips for their pets, provided by Nutting Lake-based Bullied Breeds Rescue. Plus, the Town Clerk staff will be present at the clinic to issue 2023 Annual Dog Licenses.
