The library is offering a mix of virtual and in-person programs for adults, teens & kids.

Representatives from Tewksbury-based non-profit organizations are invited to network at the library's Fall Community Roundtable. Attendees are encouraged to share information about their respective organization's programs, services and upcoming events and fundraisers. Each organization will be given 5 minutes to share with the group. Register HERE.

Virtual Meditation Class (ON ZOOM)

Monday, September 27, 7:30pm

Mindfulness and meditation teacher Lauren Masse, founder of "Mindful Minis Boston," will lead a 3-week series of virtual meditation classes. Classes will take place from 7:30pm to 8pm over three consecutive Mondays -- September 13, September 20, and September 27 -- via Zoom. Participants will practice a different type of meditation at each class -- Deep Breathing & Muscle Relaxation (September 13), Movement Meditation (September 20), and Loving Kindness Meditation (September 27). Learn new ways you can practice daily mindfulness to calm your mind and body. Masse, who earned a Master's Degree in Public Health from Boston University, is a holistic health coach and social emotional coach. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library. Town Meeting 101 -- How Does Town Meeting Work? (ON ZOOM)

Tewksbury has 22,000+ voters, but only 200-300 typically attend Town Meeting, where so many important decisions affecting residents are made. Have you never been to Town Meeting? Or maybe it’s been awhile? Join Tewksbury Town Clerk Denise Graffeo for a Zoom discussion on how Town Meeting works. Graffeo will also answer your questions so you will feel more prepared to attend future town meetings, including the Special Town Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 7pm at Tewksbury Memorial High School. Tewksbury Community Market

Thursday, September 30, 3pm-6:30pm

The Tewksbury Community Market takes place on Thursdays, from 3pm to 7pm, through September 30, 2021, in the parking lot behind the Tewksbury Recreation Center at Livingston St. Park (288 Livingston Street). Each market features 35-40 vendors selling food and non-food products. Each week's vendors are listed on the Market's website. VIRTUAL CLIMATE CHANGE TALK: Explore The World's Treetops with Meg Lowman (ON ZOOM)

Author Meg Lowman, a global pioneer in forest canopy ecology, will discuss her new memoir, The Arbornaut: A Life Discovering the Eighth Continent in the Trees Above Us, via Zoom. Nicknamed the “Real-Life Lorax” by National Geographic, biologist, botanist, and conservationist Meg Lowman -- aka “CanopyMeg”-- will take us on an adventure into the “eighth continent” of the world's treetops, along her journey as a tree scientist, and into climate action. Lowman is the executive director of the TREE Foundation and a professor at the National University of Singapore, Arizona State University, and Universiti Sains Malaysia. Outdoor Meditation Class (IN-PERSON)

Friday, October 1, 3pm

Chris Connolly, RN, BSN, owner of "Living My Dream Yoga," will lead a 6-week series of outdoor meditation class. Classes will take place from 3pm to 4pm over six consecutive Fridays -- September 10, September 17, September 24, October 1, October 8, and October 15 -- on the library's back lawn. This class is designed for both those who are new to meditation and regular practitioners. Participants will practice a different type of meditation at each class -- (1) Metta (loving kindness) Meditation, (2) Sound Meditation; (3) Walking Meditation; (4) Autogenic Relaxation Meditation; (5) iRest Yoga Nidra; and (6) Mudra (hand gestures) Meditation. Classes will begin with 15-20 minutes of centering and breathing practice, leading into some gentle stretching/yoga to prepare the body and mind for meditation. After the meditation, there will an integration process to allow participants to return to their daily life. Connolly, a retired 43-year registered nurse, is a certified 500-hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher, Level 1 iRest Yoga Nidra Teacher, and Reiki II Practitioner. Register HERE.

Minecraft For Grades 5-7 (ON ZOOM)

Get together with your friends, join our server and build things together in Minecraft. The server only works with Minecraft on the computer (JAVA edition), not console or mobile versions of the game. We will have a Zoom call going while we play. Tiny Tykes Storytime (IN-PERSON)

Tiny Tykes Storytime is back! This storytime is designed for young children ages 0 to 18 months. Older siblings are always welcome to join in. Join us for a fun session of stories, songs, fingerplays, instruments, and gentle movement that help build early literacy skills. Babies experience the sounds and structure of language through rhythm, rhyme and repetition. Due to Covid restrictions, we are limiting our Storytime programs to 20 people.
