Tewksbury Library To Host Outdoor Concerts This Summer

Come hear the sounds of the Beatles, Johnny Cash, The Who, The Eagles, Billy Joel & Frank Sinatra.

TEWKSBURY, MA – Kids can’t have all the fun at the library this summer! The Tewksbury Public is offering nearly 100 FREE programs for adults this summer, including outdoor concerts every Monday night at 6:30pm. These concerts will pay tribute to some of the greatest musical acts in history, including:

Johnny Cash: On Monday, July 12 at 6:30pm, enjoy a concert from the premiere Johnny Cash tribute band, Counterfeit Cash. Influenced by Johnny Cash in his younger years while listening to the great lyrics of the "Man in Black" and the story that they told, lead singer Rodney Brunelle – with his Johnny Cash voice – made it his mission in life to keep the stories of Johnny Cash going. The band performs the songs that "The Man In Black" made famous, including “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Ring of Fire,” “Hurt,” “Big River,” and many more. If you close your eyes, you’ll swear you’re listening to Johnny Cash.

The Who: On Monday, July 19 at 6:30pm, enjoy a concert from New England's #1 The WHO tribute band, The American WHO. The American WHO is an incredible recreation of one of the greatest British rock bands from the 1960s to the present. The band’s current concert tour, “Long Live Rock,” is an exciting and authentic show that brings the sound of this legendary band to life. Powerful, unpredictable, charismatic and packed with the unstoppable energy and spirit of Daltrey, Townsend, Moon and Entwistle, American WHO presents a virtual “who’s who” of both classic songs and deep cuts that bring back the memories of Leeds, Woodstock, Isle of Wight and other historic shows.

In addition, 4EverFab engages the audience with stories behind the songs, placing them in musical, cultural and historical context. This show is family-friendly and attracts fans from every generation. All the well-known hits will be featured including “She Loves You,” “Penny Lane” and “Strawberry Fields Forever,” plus sing-alongs like “Yellow Submarine” and “Hey Jude.”

Billy Joel: On Monday, August 2 at 6:30pm, enjoy a concert from Heart Attack Ack Ack Ack Ack Ack, a Billy Joel cover band based in Boston, paying tribute to one of the most successful solo artists of all time. Anchored by a professional dueling pianist and lifelong Billy Joel fan, the band’s dynamic live shows focus largely on Billy’s more rocking mid-70s to early-80s output and have been converting 'too cool for school' Billy Joel doubters one by one, while giving lifelong fans a chance to sing along with their favorites at the top of their lungs.

Frank Sinatra: On Monday, August 9 at 6:30pm, enjoy a concert from Jeff Jarvis, an accomplished professional entertainer who is excited to bring his Frank Sinatra tribute show -- "Sinatra and More" -- to Tewksbury. The show combines the energy and performance of music from the era of the great crooners! Jeff brings endless amounts of fun and excitement to every performance. Enjoy lots of singing and swinging as you take a walk down memory lane with big band favorites and timeless ballads. Relive the sounds of Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, and more, including many of the great hits of the days gone by.

The Eagles: On Monday, August 16 at 6pm (early start), enjoy a concert from The Eagles Experience, which aims to be the most authentic tribute show to the Eagles available today. With a one-to-one lineup that reflects the Eagles during their heyday in the late 1970s, the members of The Eagles Experience each emulate their respective “Eagle”, playing the correct instrument and singing the songs as sung by their protégé. Every member of The Eagles Experience is dedicated to presenting their part as accurately as possible, and will provide you with an ultimate "Eagles Experience" you will not soon forget. The Eagles Experience plays songs written and recorded by the Eagles as a band, from their biggest hits to hidden gems.

These concerts will take place on the library's back lawn. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets or chairs. Overflow parking is available in the field across from the library’s parking lot.
