Tewksbury Museum To Celebrate Public Health Week 2024

TEWKSBURY, MA - The Public Health Museum in Massachusetts is pleased to celebrate Public Health Week 2024. Marked nationally during the first week in April each year, Public Health Week recognizes the contributions of public health and the issues that are important for our nation’s collective health.

The museum will present a range of programs including Narcan training, a discussion about the elimination of pediatric HIV infections with Dr. Lynne Mofenson, an alumni view of the Outbreak high school public health experience, and guest speaker Dr. Robbie Goldstein, Massachusetts’ Commissioner of Public Health, for a local public health forum on housing instability and public health.

Celebrating 30 years, the museum explores the history of public health through artifacts and exhibits. Learn about Infectious Diseases, Patent Medicines, Food Safety and Pasteurization, early Mental Health, Nursing/Education, early Dentistry, and more. The museum also features an iron lung; a lifesaving machine for those stricken with polio.
