Tewksbury Screening Of 'Wakanda Forever' Rescheduled For Friday

TEWKSBURY, MA — Event organizers are reminding residents that the screening of "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" originally scheduled for Thursday at Tewksbury Memorial High School has been pushed back a day due to the recent snowstorm.

The film, which is part of the Black History Month Film Series, now will be shown at 6 p.m. Friday at TMHS's McGrath Performing Arts Center, located at 320 Pleasant St. The movie is free and no registration is required.

In "Wakanda Forever," the sequel to 2018's "Black Panther," the people of Wakanda are fighting to protect their home from intervening world powers as they mourn the death of King T'Challa. Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o and Angela Bassett star in the film, which is rated PG-13.

The film series, which is co-hosted by the Tewksbury Public Library and the Tewksbury Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Advisory Committee, concludes Tuesday with the film "Just Mercy," which will be shown at 6:30 p.m. at the Tewksbury Public Library, 300 Chandler St.

The 2019 film stars Michael B. Jordan as world-renowned civil rights defense attorney Bryan Stevenson, who works to free a wrongly condemned death row prisoner.
