TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury Public Schools will be closed Friday for a traditional snow day, the district said in response to predicted heavy snowfall.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning that will be in effect 1 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in Tewksbury. The service forecasts 4 to 9 inches of snowfall in Tewksbury from 3 a.m. to noon Friday.

Because the state is not counting any remote learning days toward the required 180-day in-person learning requirement this year, all snow days across Massachusetts will be traditional snow days, unlike the hybrid or remote days some districts had last year.
