In lacrosse, Piracini was a four-year member of the varsity team and was the captain and a Catholic Central League All-Star her senior year.

On the ice, Piracini played in three consecutive state championship games, winning the Division I state title as a freshman.

Piracini then went on to Norwich University, where she helped lead the Cadets to the Division III national title in 2018.

Malden Catholic Athletic Director William Raycraft said Piracini emerged from a strong pool of applicants for the lacrosse head coaching position.

"Coach Piracini has done a fantastic job working with our girls in the hockey program and she was a standout athlete herself. I am confident she will lead our lacrosse program with outstanding skill and eventually to MIAA distinction," Raycraft said. "Our program currently has nearly 60 members in its fifth year of existence, and we believe that coach Piracini will fuel it with a wealth of knowledge, passion and enthusiasm."

Raycraft added: "(Piracini) understands our mission, embodies the core values of the athletic department, and I am confident she will make a very positive connection with our student-athletes."
