WAKEFIELD, MA — Preliminary vote totals in Wakefield this week showed local voters largely landing in line with state and regional trends in now completed 2022 state elections.

The town released its preliminary results on Wednesday. As with the state as a whole, Wakefield voters favored Democratic gubernatorial candidate Maura Healey and Democratic Attorney General candidate Andrea Campbell at the top of the ballot.

Elsewhere, voters joined fellow constituents in the Sixth Congressional District in voting for another term for Congressman Seth Moulton, who NBC News projected as the winner in his three-way race on Tuesday night.

Wakefield voters further supported State Sen. Jason Lewis in his reelection campaign against a challenge from Wakefield Town Councilor and Republican Ed Dombroski in the Massachusetts Fifth Middlesex State Senate District.

Lewis, a Democrat, declared victory roughly an hour after polls closed this week at an event in Malden. Dombroski later thanked his supporters in a message on social media on Wednesday after publicly released preliminary results across the Fifth Middlesex District indeed showed Lewis as the apparent winner in this race.
