Wayland College Student Dies In Connecticut Crash

The 21-year-old was driving in the wrong direction along a Connecticut highway last week when he collided with a minivan, police said.

WAYLAND, MA — Wayland resident Alexander Dennis has been identified as the fourth victim in a fatal crash that occurred last week along Route 15 in Connecticut.

Dennis, 21, a junior at Fairfield University, was the wrong-way driver in the early morning two-vehicle crash, which killed three other people, according to Connecticut State Police.
The fiery crash occurred at about 1:45 a.m. in the southbound lane in the area of Exit 52 in Stratford.

Dennis was traveling northbound in the southbound lane when his 2016 Honda CR-V collided head-on with a Chrysler minivan.

The three people killed in the crash, residents of Easton, Conn., were Steven Rowland, 65, the driver, and passengers Thomas Vitale, 80, and Olga Vitale, 81, according to Connecticut state police.
