Blowtorch Break-In At Target: Westborough Arrest

This man and an accomplice allegedly broke into multiple Target stores using a blowtorch.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—A man is facing charges after authorities say he used a blowtorch to break into Target stores, including the Westborough location, where $90,000 in products were stolen, according to reports.

Elijah Aiken, who is listed as living in multiple states, is charged with breaking into four different Target stores in four states using the blowtorch, reports the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.

Court documents indicate that Aiken and another person traveled from Pennsylvania to several other states between December 2014 and February 2015, breaking into two stores in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The blowtorch was used to cut through metal doors in the rear of the stores. In all, $180,000 in merchandise was stolen, mostly Apple iPhones and iPads.
