WESTBOROUGH, MA — If you have thoughts, concerns or ideas about the proposed new Westborough community and recreation center at Bay State Commons, act fast.

A survey seeking feedback from town residents closes on Friday. The survey results will be shared with the town's project manager, CHA Consulting, to use in the planning process for the new facility.

The town revealed plans to buy a partially empty building at Bay State Commons almost a year ago, using it to create a new space for recreation and senior programs and activities. Shortly after, Town Meeting authorized the town to borrow $8.8 million for the purchase, plus more for planning and consulting services.

The needs survey, which opened July 9, asks residents how the space should be used — for example, whether it should have a music practice space, a teaching kitchen or a weight room — and what types of activities the space should be used for.

For more details on the project and milestones so far, visit the town's community center webpage.
