WESTBOROUGH, MA — Summer is almost over for Westborough students. The first day of school in the district is coming up on Aug. 28.

Before the new year starts, Westborough parents can meet new Superintendent Allison Borchers on Thursday at Memorial Hall.

Here are some of the important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar:

  • Start date: Aug. 28
  • Early release days: Sept. 20, Oct. 25, Nov. 8 (K-6 only), Dec. 6, Jan. 17 (K-6), Jan. 29, March 21 (K-6), March 28 (K-6), April 18
  • Labor Day: Sept. 2
  • Rosh Hashanah: Oct. 3
  • Indigenous People's Day: Oct. 14
  • Diwali: Nov. 1
  • Professional development day: Nov. 5
  • Veterans' Day: Nov. 11
  • Thanksgiving break: Nov. 28, 29
  • Winter break: Dec. 20 to Jan. 1
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school: Jan. 20
  • February break: Feb. 18 to 21
  • March 31: Eid al-Fitr
