Wintry Mix to Make for Slippery Commute Tuesday Afternoon

Hope you enjoyed those 50-degree temps on Sunday. It's back to winter, complete with some snow possibilities, for Westwood this week.

WESTWOOD, MA — Say goodbye to that balmy 50-degree Sunday; the week ahead is decidedly more wintry, beginning with a wintry mix expected at a most inconvenient time Tuesday.

Snow, sleet rain — the dreaded “wintry mix” — is expected to move into the area Tuesday afternoon, beginning around 4 p.m., just in time to make for a slippery and potentially hazardous evening commute.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy skies with temps in the mid to upper 30s are expected Tuesday. By Tuesday evening, some snow showers could develop. Accumulation is expected to be light, but wind gusts will start to pick up.

Wednesday: Wind is the word for Wednesday. Mostly sunny skies will compete with gusts up to 35 mph and cold temperatures — the high is just 29. Things will stay clear overnight as the temps drop into the middle teens.

Thursday: The sun will be bright on Thursday and temps will climb to near freezing before dropping to about 20 overnight.

Friday: Sun and clouds will mix Friday as temperatures reach the upper 30s. Snow showers could develop after midnight, but accumulation is expected to be minor.
