Abundant Life Christian School and Learning Center is a private, Christian school located in the Abundant Life Christian Center of Wilmington. It desires to produce students who are uniquely prepared to discover the world around them, to be inquisitive about its many facets, are creative in their approach to problems, and seek to grow individually all in the framework of Christian faith. It offers a curriculum that is academically sound, intellectually challenging and theologically consistent with faith in Jesus Christ.

The staff at ALCS is here to partner with you and your child. We will invest in equipping your child toward educational success. Throughout that process, we will strive to create an atmosphere that will challenge your child to achieve his or her full potential. In this setting they will also provide the moral support students need to rise to that challenge.

Your child will be encouraged to sort out, choose and make decisions. The classroom will be a place where responsible risks can be taken to think, express and explore. Through sharing their own life experiences, hopes and dreams, teachers will work to persuade and convince your child of the benefits of learning. They will express appreciation for the work and efforts of your child; appreciation and recognition are proven motivators.

Scripture says that “God is for us.” (italics mine). I often think of this phrase when it comes to the staff at ALCS. We are for your child.

Being “for” your child means that staff will hold him or her accountable for deadlines, the quality of his or her work, commitments made, how he or she relates to peers…basically all aspects of life and growth in the school setting. Please remember, we are for your child and will be doing our very professional best to guide and nurture him or her through these years so that he or she emerges a successful, well-rounded student at the end.

Finally, and most importantly, here at ALCS we are partnering with God and His purposes for your child. We seek to honor Him by teaching well, modeling well, communicating well. All our goals would be for naught without the Lord at the core of all we plan and do. Every day we ask that He further equip us to understand your child and to help him or her grow and mature and learn. We are confident in that He is for us, too, as the teachers of your child.

We welcome you to come visit ALCS, and are happy to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to the opportunity to partner with you in growing kids God’s way!
