Soccer just got more exciting for kids around the Wilmington area with Lil’ Kickers, an award-winning child development program that uses soccer to help kids ages 18 months to nine years old tackle important developmental milestones through age-appropriate, energetic and fun activities.
The 50-minute classes are led by highly trained, energetic coaches who engage kids and help maintain their enthusiasm by challenging and encouraging them to learn and accomplish new goals. Tailored to how kids learn at different ages, every aspect of the curriculum was created by child development experts.
“Lil’ Kickers was a great addition to our programming in Danvers and we are very excited to bring the program to the Wilmington area. Lil’ Kickers does an amazing job developing curriculum that inspires children to be active, strong and confident. Classes use soccer as a tool to teach children about how they move and interact with peers all while bringing smiles to their faces,” said Luke Padilla, Lil’ Kickers Coordinator.

Lil’ Kickers classes are organized by age starting with Bunnies, Thumpers and Cottontails for children ages 1½ to 3½ with parent participation. These classes focus on balance, coordination, cooperation and listening skills as well as developing a sense of independence. The Hoppers, Jackrabbits and Big Feet classes for ages three to six focusing on basic soccer skills such as dribbling, passing, trapping and shooting as well as building teamwork and helping players grasp the fundamentals. Intermediate players ages four to nine can participate in Micro Classes where kids are introduced to more complex soccer skills and scrimmaging each week.
When kids graduate from Lil’ Kickers they can join our Skills Institute classes. Skills Institute is a developmental soccer program for boys and girls ages 5-12 years (we are currently only offering 5/6 & 7/8 classes). With a 8:1 player to coach ratio, players will receive plenty of one on one attention as they explore their potential in the target areas of soccer. Classes will be offered in groups by age and skill level.
