WILMINGTON, MA — Just in time for a cozy night in during the season's first snow, you can now pick up a pre-made pie at a new Wilmington business and bake it at home for dinner. Pie Me Over, which opened Thursday after a cross-country move from Las Vegas, offers a variety of mostly-savory bake-at-home pies, both frozen and fresh. They also have a selection of desserts and quiches sold by the slice.

The company started with classic chicken pot pies, with celery, peas and carrots, but has expanded its offerings to three other chicken pies, a veggie pie, and a beef sirloin pie. The pies come in three sizes — one, two or four servings — as well as small cocktail-size pies by special order. And there are four crusts: traditional, garlic, cheddar, and habanero cheddar.

The new Wilmington location is at 217 Main St. The full menu, heating instructions and more information is available at piemeover.com.

"I always direct [new customers] to the chicken first," said owner and baker Marje Hammond, a Massachusetts native. "But some people like beef more than chicken. It's a matter of taste. Even the veggie pie's really good."

One of the chicken pies is the "simply chicken, for people who don't like veggies," said Hammond. There's also a gluten-free chicken pie and a chicken curry pie. Pie Me Over rotisseries their own chicken as part of hours of preparation for each pie, she said.

Hammond and her partner used to bake pies in house, but found they take too long to bake to order. "It's not like a pizza," she said.
